Welcome to the WDMH Surgery Program!

WDMH’s team of healthcare professionals is here to care for and support you and your family throughout your surgical journey. Privacy, safety and quality of care are our priorities. Our team is here to answer your questions.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic (PAC)
Your surgical journey may begin with a visit to the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic (PAC) before your planned operation.
  • Day Surgery Unit (DSU)
On the day of your operation, you will be coming to the Day Surgery Unit (DSU) where the Nurse will prepare you for your operation.
  • Operating Room
From the DSU you will be taken to the Operating Room.
  • Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU)
After the operation, you will wake up in the Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU) also known as Recovery Room.

Depending on the type of operation, you may go home the same day or be admitted to a hospital bed.
