WDMH Physician Earns National Recogntion

Dr. Crystal Doyle's commitment to patients
and rural emergency care has earned her national recognition. The longtime
Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) physician has been named Emergency
Physician of the Year (Ontario – Rural, Remote, Small Urban) by the Canadian
Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP).
For those who know Dr. Doyle, the award comes
as no surprise.
A familiar face in the WDMH Emergency
Department for many years, Dr. Doyle is known for her skill, leadership, and
dedication to providing excellent care close to home. As former Chief of
Emergency Medicine, she helped lead the department through the challenges of
the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to support emergency services as a
physician scheduler, mentor, and advocate.
In its award citation, CAEP recognized not
only Dr. Doyle’s accomplishments, but also the way she approaches her work.
Colleagues describe her as a trusted mentor, skilled physician, and
compassionate leader who consistently puts patients, colleagues, and community
first. Her dedication has had a lasting impact on the WDMH Emergency Department
and the patients and families who rely on it.
