Making WDMH Great, Every Day
July 16, 2026
It’s the people at WDMH who make it great
every day, and the hospital recently took time to celebrate some of them
through its Commitment Awards.
Presented on July 7th, the awards
recognize the people and teams who make WDMH such a special place through their
compassion, leadership, teamwork, and dedication. This round's recipients were
volunteer Louise Arsenault, physician Dr. Nicholas Schouela, employee Katie
Robertson, and the Finance Department.
Louise was recognized for her years of
volunteer service and her commitment to supporting patients, staff, fellow
volunteers, and Foundation events. Dr. Schouela was honoured for his mentorship
and dedication to teaching the next generation of physicians. Katie was
celebrated for her leadership in advancing key hospital initiatives and
improving patient care. The Finance Department received the Team Award for its
professionalism and behind-the-scenes work that helps keep the organization
strong and sustainable.
The hospital also recognized nominees Breanna
Faghali, Megan Derick, Shannon Horsburgh, Sharlene Vandemheen, and Tamie Hehn
for the many ways they contribute to WDMH.
"One of the things that makes WDMH
special is the people who choose to go above and beyond for their colleagues,
patients, and community," said Cholly Boland, Chief Executive Officer.
"These awards celebrate the everyday acts of kindness, leadership,
teamwork, and dedication that make a real difference. We are grateful to have
such remarkable people as part of the WDMH family."
Commitment Award nominations are accepted
year-round, giving staff, physicians, volunteers, and teams the opportunity to
recognize those who make WDMH a great place to work and receive care.
