Respirology

The goal of WDMH's Respirology Clinic is to improve the quality of life for patients diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma or Restrictive lung disease. The goal is to provide consistent care across the healthcare continuum.

The clinic provides a comprehensive evaluation of the patient’s respiratory status by a Respirologist who will recommend or implement management strategies in conjunction with the family physician. These strategies may include changes in medication, spirometry interpretation, oxygen prescriptions, and referrals to rehabilitation when appropriate.

A Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator also provides patient education, smoking cessation counseling, and spirometry where required.

Referral by a primary care provider or specialist is required.
