Since 1947, the Winchester District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has provided services for patients and the community. A founding partner of WDMH, the Auxiliary consists entirely of volunteers with the unified goal of supporting high-quality patient care.  Our motto is ‘Helping patients, staff and visitors’.

The Executive sets policy and engages in many activities to support the hospital to improve patient care or to raise funds for capital equipment. These activities include:

  • In Memoriam Fund

  • HELPP lottery

  • The Gift Shoppe

  • Communications

  • Social/ Special events

  • Fundraising

  • Plus many other services!

Shop ‘til You Drop

The Auxiliary Gift Shoppe is located in the lobby near the main entrance of the hospital. The Shoppe offers a wide range of gifts, clothing and sundries. All proceeds are used to purchase hospital equipment.

 

The Gift Shoppe is open weekdays, evenings, and weekend afternoons.  The shoppe is closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Making a Difference

Over the past six decades, the Auxiliary has purchased dozens of pieces of equipment to support patient care. Some examples include:

  • Wireless IV pumps

  • Ultrasound equipment

  • Lab equipment

  • Vital Signs monitors

  • Colonoscope

  • Defibrillator and Monitor

  • Anaesthetic machines

  • Electric beds

  • Patient lifts

  • Examination tables

  • Portable x-ray equipment
