Celebrating Gratitude

This year’s Annual General Meeting was a celebration of gratitude — recognizing the unwavering support of our local communities and the dedication of WDMH’s staff, physicians, and volunteers.

Looking back on the past year, CEO Cholly Boland expressed gratitude, saying, ‘First and foremost, thank you to the entire WDMH team – over 900 staff members, physicians, midwives, volunteers, and students – for your commitment to delivering high quality patient care.”

Cholly continued, “We are also grateful to our community partners for their continued support, especially the WDMH Auxiliary, the Patient and Family Engagement Committee, Dundas Manor Long-Term Care Home, our partners in the Community Care and Dillabough buildings, and the generous donors and dedicated staff at the WDMH Foundation. Together, we continue to care for our local communities with Compassionate Excellence.”

At the AGM, the 2024-2025 Executive was re-elected for the 2025-2026 year. Thank you to Jennifer Milburn, Annik Blanchard and Tyson Roffey who will continue to serve as Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Board. Jennifer Milburn, Chair, noted: “I’m honoured to continue working alongside this dedicated group of volunteers. I truly believe in the importance of high quality, accessible, local health care, and I’m committed to supporting our community hospital to continue to exemplify these values.”

We bid farewell to two outgoing Board members, David Wattie of Morrisburg and Brenda Toonders of Winchester, with heartfelt thanks for their dedicated service on the Board of Directors. Their contributions have made a lasting impact, and we are grateful for their commitment and leadership.

Two new Board members were welcomed at the meeting: Loriann Harbers and Bailey Milne are the WDMH Board’s newest members.

Loriann lives just outside of Chesterville and is a dedicated municipal leader with over 20 years of experience in public service, currently serving as Director of Corporate Services/Clerk for the Township of South Stormont. “I’ve had a very positive experience as a patient at WDMH, especially during the births of my three children. I am honoured to be chosen as a Board member and appreciate the opportunity to become part of a positive community,” shared Loriann.

Bailey is originally from North Dundas and brings a strong background in public health, research and health policy. “I was drawn to the opportunity to serve on the WDMH Board because of my passion for improving health systems and advancing equitable access to care,” Bailey stated, “With my background in epidemiology, public health, and program evaluation, I saw this as a meaningful way to support a hospital that plays such a vital role in its community.”

At the end of the meeting, Tom Clapp thanked the WDMH Staff and Leadership team for all their hard work and support to the community over the past year.
