Current General Class registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
· Successful completion of an approved RPN OR course
· Demonstrated knowledge and recent (within the past 2 yrs) experience in care of a patient in Day Care and operating room
· Related hospital nursing experience
· Commitment to continued education related to position
· Demonstrated nursing assessment skills
· Must be prepared to participate in the Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic
· Good attendance and availability
· Ability to lift and transfer patients
· Able to relate effectively with patients, the general public and members of the health care team
Desirable:
· Membership in RPNAO and associations related to nursing specialty
· Recent participation on hospital committees and teams
