The Hospital is governed by a 19-member Hospital Board and employs 275 staff. There are 79 appointed staff including physicians, dentists and midwives. Hospital services are enriched by approxmately 160 dedicated volunteers in all areas of operation. Students from all professions study under the supervision of our professional leaders.

The Hospital is accredited by the Canadian Council Health Services and received a three year award in 2007. WDMH is affiliated with multiple universities and colleges including the University of Ottawa.

WDMH has recently entered an exciting and challenging period of redevelopment. With tremendous support of the community, the estimated 59 million dollar renewal project will include:

• renovations for approximately 50,000 square feet of existing hospital space to allow for more efficient patient care and patient privacy; and,
• new construction totaling an additional 50,000 square feet.
